A √1 :√2 :√3 triangle ~it's very useful !
1. Well, Tanu-chan has been having some delusions about triangles lately, in these hot summer days.
To be precise,
(1) about √3 and triangles
and,
(2) about the fact that the cube of 3 + the cube of 4 + the cube of 5 = the cube of 6.
are the two main topics of my recent delusions.
But since (2) is difficult to imagine, I will write about (1) today.
2. If you look up famous right triangles, you will find a right isosceles triangle, a golden ratioΦ triangle, a triangle with side lengths of 3:4:5, and a triangle with angles of 30 : 60 : 90 degrees, and so on.
Well, I can see why.
We learn these in geometry class, and they are also used in pyramids.
But, as I explained a bit in last article, that triangle formed as a result of " Tanu- Punch", it is the shape of debris(fragments), the right triangle with side lengths of √1:√2:√3, is not mentioned very often.
Even if you look at something written about this triangle, you will see,
"It's not beautiful because it's not in integer ratio."
"What is the use of a triangle made of irrational numbers?"
In short, well, everyone ignores this triangle....
3. But Tanu thinks that this √1:√2:√3 right triangle is one of the basic triangles.
Of course, I feel sorry for it, and that's why I'm patronizing it.
But it's the one that can actually be useful, this baby!
With just a right-angle ruler without scales and a compass, you can make this triangle, making a 1:1:√2 triangle and then drawing a line of 1 perpendicular to √2.
But, wow, it can be used for much more than that.
You can make √4√5√6 very quickly, as shown in the figure below!
(Fig.1)
4. Not only that, you can easily make more than √7,√8,√9,....by shifting the √3 line segment vertically from the √1√2√3 triangle to make a rectangular box.
Well, it is really a very useful one!
(Fig.2)
5. Some people may say, "Well, even if that is true, it is not used for the pyramids in Egypt."
Or, some people might say that the Egyptians did not know the "route√ " in the first place.
How could they build the pyramids if they didn't know the concept of routes ? ????
Well, I will ignore those people.
But, actually, they do use this triangle for a pyramid.
.....I'll talk about that another time!
Today's article was a ask for much more your attention to the √1:√2:√3 triangle!
