Anglo-American Section
Lloyd-George the Great ②
1. Now, we will continue with Lloyd-George, the Great.
Britain entered World War I in 1914. Lloyd-George, a member of the Liberal Party, at first opposed, but this time followed the government.
However, the battle lines were deadlocked, and Churchill's attack on Gallipoli (1915) was stopped by the young Turkish King, Kemal Atatürk, and the British suffered heavy losses.
At this time, the only Englishman who could match Kemal on his ability was Lloyd-George the Great.
However, a fierce conflict arose with the British military over what to do with the Balkans.
Then, the Royal Navy was defeated by the German Navy at the Battle of Jutland in May 1916, and there was no longer a moment to lose.
In June 1916, Lloyd-George became Minister of War, and following the defeat at the Battle of the Somme, he took over the dictatorship over the army and became Prime Minister (War Cabinet, December 1916, Trine△ of the Saturn).
(Fig.1)
Two years later, Germany was defeated and World War I ended.
2. The war was over, but Lloyd-George was caught up in postwar issues.
Simply put, he promised his people a claim for reparations against Germany, but times were not so simple.
The Treaty of Versailles was concluded, but the positions of the countries were very different each other (conjunction☌ of Uranus♅ ), and the Versailles regime was quickly upset when Turkey abolished the Treaty of Sèvres and the Greek-Turkish War broke out.
In the midst of all this, the Conservative Party, which had been in the ruling party, decided to stop supporting Lloyd-George (1922 his natal moon's opposition☍), and the government fell apart (Lloyd-George, at age 59).
(Fig.2)
3. After that, Lloyd-George did not have a good time for a while.
From that his natal Moon's opposition, he entered a period of sinking for more than a decade, with his natal Sun's semi-sextile, Saturn♄ squared, Ascendant in opposition, natal Moon's semi-sextile, and his natal Sun's opposition.
When his natal sun was in opposition☍, Lloyd-George met with Hitler and praised him ( 1936, Fig. 3).
In the following political situation, Lloyd-George's stance was criticized.
In Parliament, he had fewer supporters.
(Fig.3)
However, with the outbreak of World War II, his old ally Winston Churchill became prime minister, and formed his cabinet, and Lloyd-George was finally called upon again.
He was asked to join the Cabinet as Foreign Minister (1940, Saturn ♄ in Sextile, Fig. 4), but he declined the offer because he's at the age of 77.
(Fig.4)
4. He then died in 1945, having been placed in the peerage.
Lloyd-George did significant work up to the age of 59, and then did not do much of note.
Had he not been an Englishman, a country of parliamentary institutions, he might have denounced the working class and continued his fierce political struggle.
No, on the contrary, he would probably have seized dictatorial power.
Yes, he could do that.
But even if he did nothing, his presence was so great politically that Hitler intended to make Lloyd George the head of a pro-German government if his army occupied Britain.
Thus, the German invasion of Britain ended halfway.
...That's all for today.
