60stars Astrology Season 6

152 Let's Learn How to Predict the Future:60stars Astrology Season 6-9 Russia and Eastern Europe Section

L.I. Brezhnev

1.  Well, here we are at the end of this Season 6, the Russia and Eastern Europe section!

Russia is a land where great names tend to appear, just like in the UK, even though the population is not very large.

First of all, let me introduce Mr. L. I. Brezhnev in this first installment.

Mr. Brezhnev was the head of the Soviet Union after Mr. Khrushchev and a little before Mr. Gorbachev.

He was in office when Tanu-chan was young.

He was a man with splendid eyebrows!
His V = 3.33.

2.  Mr. Brezhnev was born on December 19, 1906, and his Sun was at 26 degrees of Sagittarius♐, but in 60stars astrology, he was a Leo♌.

His Moon was at 16 degrees in Aquarius♒, but in 60 stars astrology it was in Aries♈.

Since the Ascendant was also in Aries, this person must be a fire character, strong in character, rigid, honor loving, a craftsman and a military type.
(Fig 1)

3.  Mr. Brezhnev entered Komsomol in 1923 to study metallurgy (in good aspect of Vulcan, 60 degrees of natal Sun), then after joining the Communist Party, he got acquainted with Khrushchev and in 1935 he studied metallurgy again at the Metallurgical Technical School and became an engineer in the steel industry.

When the war between Germany and the Soviet Union began in 1941, he was immediately drafted into the army and engaged in the evacuation of steel and other industries.

In April 1943 he was appointed political director of the 18th Army.
At that time, Brezhnev's progressing Sun was,
36.3 x 3.33 + ♐26° = 146.8°, near 27° of Aries, in trine with his Natal Sun☉, in opposition of Arcturus★
.
Entering the second half of 1943, Brezhnev's forces took control of the battlefield on the Ukrainian front.
(Fig. 2)

4.  After the war, while Brezhnev's progressing Sun was transiting Taurus, Brezhnev worked primarily on the reconstruction of Ukraine.

However, his work was recognized and he was promoted to a candidate for the Politburo after meeting with Great King Stalin (1952).
Brezhnev's sun at that time (age 45) was,
45 x 3.33 + ♐26° = 179°, which was 29° Taurus.

However, in March of the following year, the King Stalin died suddenly.
Brezhnev's progression Sun entered Gemini♊.
(Fig 3)

5.  When Khrushchev became the leading figure in the Soviet Union (1956), Brezhnev, who had been supporting him, became an official member of the Central Political Bureau the following year, 1957.

At that time, Brezhnev's sun was around ♊16 degrees and in trine with his natal Moon☽.

Brezhnev became the nominal head of state, the President of the Supreme Executive Council, in May 1960 (Opposition to his Natal Sun☉).
The real power, however, was still in Khrushchev's hands.
(Fig 4)

6. However, Khrushchev had failures in economic policy and was also a dogmatic personality.

Therefore, the frustration of the party leaders gradually expanded.

In 1963, Brezhnev and his fellow party members Podgorny, Suslov, Kosygin, Mikoyan, and others conspired and the following year, Khrushchev was dismissed from his position as First Secretary.

Brezhnev's sun at the end of 1964 year (around age 58) was,
58 x 3.33 + ♐26° = 219°, or at 9 degrees of Cancer,
in conjunction with Jupiter and Sirius and in trine with Saturn (Fig. 5).

7.  Brezhnev was a man brought up by Khrushchev.
Also, unlike Stalin the Great, Khrushchev did not carry out purges that killed people.

Thus, the change of government proceeded in a less bloody manner.

Although the entire Soviet Union was severely shaken by the Prague Spring and the outbreak of the Sino-Soviet border conflict (1968-69. Brezhnev's progressing Sun was square to his Ascendant), he managed to overcome them, and seized power steadily in the next Leo period.

Although he suffered a temporary stroke in 1975 (his progressing Sun was in Opposition to his natal Moon), he steadfastly maintained his position by 1977-78 ( in trine of his Ascendant, in trine with his natal Sun).

His management of the economy was generally on track as well.

In retrospect, Brezhnev was a very good politician who led the Soviet Union for 18 years.

8.  However, Brezhnev's health began to deteriorate as his Sun progressed into the next sign, Virgo, and he died in November 1982.

Brezhnev's progression Sun at that time was,
75.8 years old x 3.33 + ♐26° = 278.4°, which was near 8.4° of Virgo, and although it received good aspects of Sirius and Jupiter, it was struck by the opposition of Saturn.

If Mr. Brezhnev were younger, he would have managed to exceed it, but it was probably due to his age.
(Fig. 6)

9. It's a long story, but that's all!

After Brezhnev, there was a short period of Chernenko and Andropov, and then the USSR awaited the arrival of the last big man, Gorbachev.

....That's all for today!
