■ 60stars astrology Out of seasons 6  Progression study guide:  The answer to the Test in the previous post M. Robespierre's Horoscope

1. Mr. Robespierre's V is 3.0.

Robespierre died when his progression Sun☉ was in opposition to his natal Saturn, but Saturn is the Star of Coups.

It is referred to as the Thermidorian Reaction, but in reality, he had both the power and the opportunity to overthrow the reactionary forces.

The opportunity was greater than when Napoleon carried out the coup d'รฉtat in Brumaire.

However, Robespierre did not want to stage a coup.
He hated bloodshed.

He knew that the only way to put an end to bloody politics was to sacrifice himself to Kronos.

....And "they" knew his character well, and took advantage of him.

That is the dictatorship that Uranus ♅  represents.
If he had been an ordinary politician, such bloodshed would not have occurred, and he would not have died.

....The way "they" rewarded his achievements was to cut off the head of his beloved younger brother, Augustin, right before his eyes.

2.  Mr. Robespierre was born into a bourgeois family, but he lost his parents at a young age, so he studied hard, became a lawyer, and worked diligently.

However, he decided to defend the poor, so he did not earn much money.

Then, at the age of 24, he took on the case of the lightning rod.

This was the trine of Uranus ♅, the revolutionary star representing lightning.

In fact, this is the star which led to his rise to power.

 (Fig. 1)

3. After winning the case and gaining fame, Robespierre became the director of the Academy of Arras at the age of 27 and also published a paper that earned him a large prize.

This was when his progression Sun☉ was in trine△ of his Venus.

 (Fig. 2)

4. Up to this point, he had a fairly smooth path as a prominent local figure.

.....However, the times would not let him remain untouched.

In 1789, he was elected as the representative of the Artois region in the Estates-General of France.

The trine of Jupiter represents the nobility, or legislators.

This marked the beginning of his involvement in the revolution.

5. After....As you all know, he went on to become a Jacobin dictator, and while Robespierre's fame spread throughout the country, he also gained a reputation as a fearsome figure who executed his opponents.

At that time, his progression Sun was in a trine with his natal Moon ☽, giving him national popularity.
Additionally, his Sun was in sextile with Arcturus ★, meaning he had the power to defeat his enemies.

 (Fig 4).

6. However, he was overthrown and executed due to the Thermidorian Reaction (Saturn's opposition).

Robespierre has been sometimes portrayed as an extreme revolutionary who was too idealistic, a murderer.

The Jacobin dictatorship, the execution of the king and queen, and other bloody images come to mind.

However, he was an honest, kind-hearted man who fundamentally opposed the death penalty, and he sought to improve the lives of the people through steady efforts.

In other words, as a politician, he was, in a sense, still naive.

Politics is about balancing real-world interests, and sometimes it is necessary to sacrifice ideals.

Moreover, there are always those who are tempted by money, women, and status, and those who betray others.

A politician's job is to carefully consider these factors, shake hands with traitors, occasionally turn a blind eye to injustice, and advance real his politics through compromise.

.....If Robespierre had lived longer, he would have become a great politician....

Napoleon said as much, lamenting Robespierre's death.

...Well, with that,

General Lafayette (V=2.81)

Maximilien Robespierre (V=3.0),

Emperor Napoleon Bonaparte (V=3.6=2.4)

The introduction of the three main figures of the French Revolution is now complete.

From next time, I'll return to the "Season Holiday" for a bit.
