Φ¹⁴　”　The Rings　”

1. Now, there are other cycles as well—like the twelve months,  the twenty-four hours, or the seven-day week.  

But in the human world, because of our physical structure,  
the cycles of "10 and 20" are the most powerful ones.  

One story based on this idea is "The Lord of the Rings".  

Besides multiples of 2 and 5,  
each number has its own meaning.  

This is a famous story, and within the bounds of fair use,  
let’s quote a very short summary from the epigraph (in public form):  
......

Three Rings for the kings of elves,  

Seven for the lords of dwarves,  

Nine for mortal men,  

One for the Dark Lord.  

And finally—  
"One Ring to rule them all."

......So, we have the numbers: 1, 3, 7, 9.  

The total number of rings is twenty.  

The middle land(world) represents the middle number.....five. 
 

Therefore, there is no fifth ring, and no fifteenth ring.  
Because the story is about the middle world....humanity itself.  
Or perhaps, about humans and dwarves.  

At first, there were two trees.

thus, 1 × 2 × 5 = 10.  

2. Altogether, the number of rings becomes twenty.  


The ring means both "connection" and "cycle".
  
A wedding ring means connection, of course—  
but also the idea of reunion, of coming together again.
