⑥ Good and Bad Aspects of the Ascendant (ASC)

1. As mentioned last time, when the Ascendant has favorable aspects, it indicates work goes well, wealth increases, or one becomes busy.

Conversely, unfavorable aspects suggest losing one's job or falling from power.

..........Let's examine this specifically.

Napoleon is an easy example.

After Napoleon became emperor, when his progressing Sun was in sextile with his Ascendant, he won the Battle of Austerlitz (the Battle of the Three Emperors), bringing vast territories to France.

Well, it's often the case that favorable aspects to the Ascendant in a monarch's horoscope indicate territorial expansion.

(Fig. 1)

However, precisely when the progression Sun squared the Ascendant, the “war of nations” broke out, and Napoleon was forced to abdicate.

Well, this too was a fall from grace, or rather, a loss of position. His job as emperor had ended.

(Fig. 2)

2. Next, let's look at Deng Xiaoping, the Great.

When the Cultural Revolution erupted, Deng Xiaoping was labeled a capitalist.

Though he wasn't killed, he was exiled to the countryside and forced to do farm work and other manual labor after he was over 60.

At this time, Deng Xiaoping's Sun was in square to his ASC.

Of course, his previous job—the job of General Secretary—was taken away.

(Fig 3)

However, after Mao Zedong's death, Deng Xiaoping made a comeback.

When his Progressing Sun was in trine with his ASC, Deng expelled Maoist faction members like Hua Guofeng(華国鋒) from the CCP 's central leadership.

He then placed his own handpicked followers, Hu Yaobang(胡耀邦) and Zhao Ziyang(趙紫陽), in key positions, seizing China's highest power.

He then initiated China's modernization.

In his mid-70s, he finally began fulfilling his role as a politician (=his job) in the highest position of power .

3.  While somewhat less prominent than the two figures above, let us examine Mr. Kakuei Tanaka of Japan.

Mr. Tanaka became secretary-general of the ruling party when his Progression Sun was in trine with the ASC, and through elections, he seized control of the party's core.

But, this was a move against the previous ruling party core, the CIA=anti-China faction.

(Fig.4)

As Secretary-General, Tanaka's talent and skill were recognized throughout Japan.

Soon after, despite having only a primary school education, he became Prime Minister of Japan, a nation rapidly advancing technologically.

And he achieved the normalization of relations with China.

......Yes, Mr. Tanaka openly confronted Kissinger's global strategy.

However, he was suddenly turned into a criminal defendant when the CIA fabricated the Lockheed bribery scandal.

Mr. Tanaka fought hard, but faced with the collapse of his subordinates, he finally suffered a cerebral infarction.

This was the ASC opposition. His life as a politician was ended.

(Fig. 5)

4. Well, that concludes my explanation of ASC.

I hope you now understand that ASC's influence is very strong and that it primarily relates to status and work-related events.

This is where it differs slightly from the Sun and Saturn.

........Anyway that's all for today.

Next time, I'll explain that most intense planet, Saturn ♄, but before it , we have a mini-appendix.
