Season?
Magic Forms 4
1. So, last time I gave you a puzzle: “Fill in the numbers 1 through 21 in the alien’s heptagon!”
The answer looks something like the image at the top of today’s blog post.
The number in the center is 44.
So, the seven lines all add up to 77, and the three circles also all add up to 77
4 × 11, 7 × 11
Hmm, what’s this?
4, 7, 11……
Maybe this has something to do with Lucas numbers.
..........................But that’s just my crazy idea, so don’t worry too much about it!

Let’s just have fun filling in whatever numbers we like.
2. Anyway, what Tanu-chan is wondering is: if you stack two-sided shapes to make a magic form, what kind of number sequence would you get?
In Tanu-chan’s mind, a “two-sided shape” is a line segment.
..........................But how do you stack two-sided shapes?
If you were to stack them in 3D, it would be like a die—with a 7 in the center and numbers 1 through 6 arranged around it, right?

That’s what I think, but how would you do it on a flat surface?
......Well, there’s a lot to think about.

When you do that, even an hour-long commuting time flies by!
3. Well, here we go again.
This isn’t exactly “homework,” but take this shape—whether you call it an octagon or an eight-pointed star—and try placing a zero in the center so that the eight lines and the three circles all add up to the same total.
That’s all for today!
