1. ....Well, the hottest days of this summer has passed.

When clouds like these appear, it means autumn is just around the corner.

2. Well, here’s the solution to the shape puzzle I posted last time.....the one with the figure like an octagon.


Put a zero in the center, and the answer for all eight lines and the three circles is 444.

3. As I mentioned at the beginning, there are many different kinds of magic forms.

Even on a flat surface, you don’t have to limit yourself to a square grid.

Also, you don’t necessarily have to arrange the numbers in exact, orderly sequences of integers, though I do think it’s probably better to avoid duplicates.


Of course, you can also create them in three dimensions.

It’s cool to come up with a one-of-a-kind combination like M. Gardner’s masterpiece, the Magic Hexagon, but I think it’s fine to be more relaxed and free in your approach....

.........As long as you punch holes in the paper.

Try filling in different numbers and see what happens!

4. So far, we’ve created magic forms by stacking n-gons, but it’s also interesting to try making ones that aren’t all the same number.

For example, the one below is made by stacking squares, with the outer numbers being the perfect numbers 6, 28, 496, and 8128, and the inner numbers—except for the zero at the center—all being prime numbers.

.....Well, if you keep creating them freely like this without being bound by the rules we’ve used so far.....you might or may, discover something someday!
