Mr. Juscelino  Kubitschek  

1. Now, the last of the South American section is about Mr. Juscelino Kubitschek , the builder of Brasilia.

Mr. Kubitschek's natal horoscope is very clearly structured.

I feel that South Americans are passionate and have clear horoscopes with ups and downs.

...This is the contrary to Russia.

In the natal chart, his Moon and Saturn was in Capricorn and the Sun was in Virgo.

The Ascendant was 29° at the end of Libra.

So basically, the Yin sign would be good, and also the active signs, especially Aries and Libra, would be extremely bad.

2.  Mr. Kubitschek had V=3.39.

He was born in a poor family with a father from Roma.

The track record of his younger years is a bit unclear.

It would be correct that his V is 3.39, but perhaps the ASC could be Sagittarius instead of Libra. 

Keep this in mind when reading this person's horoscope!

The reasons why Tanu-chan chose this person's horoscope, which is not very well known in Asia, are first of all,

① This person is a builder of capital cities.
From the perspective of world history, only a king can build a capital city.
Mr. Bugsy, who built Las Vegas, was also quite powerful. However, building a capital city is a different level.

② There was one point that is not known at all.
It is around his last year in 1973, when the three main stars of his natal Sun☉, Saturn♄, and Moon☽ made a Grand Trine, but on the surface, we do not see much activity by Mr. Kubitschek.

However, this was the year that S. Allende government in Chile was overthrown by CIA and a genocide was unleashed on South America. 

Now, it will be of great interest to know what role Mr. Kubitschek played in those critical situation.

3. He studied hard and became a doctor.

In 1932, as soon as his Sun in progression was about to enter Capricorn♑, he was appointed Chief Assistant to his friend, the Governor of Minas Gerais, and somehow suddenly entered politics (His progressing sun was in 60°of his Ascendant).

4.  After that, he served as a congressman and mayor of a regional city, and was elected governor of the state of Minas Gerais, when his progressing Sun was in trine△ with his Ascendant, in Opposition with Venus).

He then made great achievements in the development of the state's industries and finally won the Brazilian Presidential Election in October 1955,when his progressing Sun was in 180°of the natal Sun, in sextile with the natal Moon).

At that time, he cooperated with the army against a military coup attempt, staged an anti-coup and took office as President (January 1956, Saturn's sextile)

5.  Here, the Brazilian economy actively invited foreign capitalists, and Mr. Kubitschek began construction of the new capital, Brasilia.

The economy grew rapidly, but hyperinflation occurred.

As a result, the IMF turned down Brazil's loans(1959), and the economy fell on hard times, when his progressing Sun was semi-sextile with his Ascendant and Venus.

Although Mr. Kubitschek tried various methods to make money, it did not work and he was written up in foreign newspapers with a reputation for corruption.

He lost the Presidential Election for a second term (1961) and went into opposition party, serving as a senator.



6.  But then there was a coup d'etat in Brazil (1964)  and Kubitschek's civil rights were suspended for 10 years, so he immediately fled into exile, when his progressing Sun was in square with Saturn.

7.  But his love for his motherland led him to return home in 1967.

Although he had many supporters, the anti-military movement (Frente Amplio) was soon banned (Ascendant Opposition Fig. 7) and he was sent to prison for a short time.

However, he was not further repressed because he devoted himself only to economic activities, such as investments (trine△ with Venus♀)

8. 　In August 1976, Mr. Kubitschek died in an automobile accident, when his progressing Sun was in square with Venus, 150°of Ascendant, 30 °of Arcturus).

Some strongly believe this accident was an assassination by the Brazilian military.

But, when the Ascendant aspect is bad, accidents tend to happen, so I think this accident might not be an “assassination”.

....If it was an accident during Saturn or Arcturus square, I would suspect assassination, though.

He was tall and good looking (Ascendant in Libra♎) a very popular man who was called "JK" by the people, and his horoscope was strongly influenced by Venus♀.

Politicians are very often influenced by Saturn, but　Kubitschek, like JFK of USA, was a politician with a very strong Venus influence.

......Other politicians with strong Venus influence would be Mr. M. Gorbachev. His wife was his Venus.
