Ho Chi Minh
1. There are many famous politicians in Southeast Asia outside of China and India.
Of course, there were also politicians of the great king class.
However, countries from Myanmar to Thailand, Vietnam, Indonesia, Malaysia, and the Philippines have long been sandwiched between the superpowers of China and India, and also have been strongly influenced by other countries due to long years of colonial rule, making it difficult to develop their originality.
Today, I would like to introduce Ho Chi Minh (胡 志明), a hero of Vietnamese independence in the East of Southeast Asia.
Thanks to virtuous leaders like Ho Chi Minh and capable military leaders such as General Nguyen Zap (Red Napoleon), Vietnam defeated the United States and unified the North and South (Vietnam War).
2. Ho Chi Minh was born on May 19, 1890, with V=3.44.
Looking at his birth chart (Fig. 1), his natal Sun☉ was at 27 degrees of Taurus, meeting the Moon☽ and was in square to Saturn ♄ in Leo.
This indicates a mental capacity to endure extreme hardship.
In a sense, this is a very easy horoscope to read because the major stars gathered around 27 degrees.
(Fig.1)
3. Ho Chi Minh was inspired by Lenin's Russian Revolution while working as a chef in France, joined the French Socialist Party in 1919, and founded the Vietnamese Communist Party in 1930, but basically stood as a moderate nationalist and was not mainstream within the Communist Party.
However, after the International Comintern began to emphasize ethnic issues, he became a mainstream person, and around 1935 he became the leader of the communists in Indochina (in 150° with his natal Sun and Moon, in sextile with Saturn) after the other leaders were arrested.
At that time, he was already in his mid-40s.
4. In 1941, he returned to China after 30 years and organized the Viet Minh, but since the Viet Minh was weak, he tried to ask for help from 蔣介石, a member of the Kuomintang during the anti-Japanese war.
But he was detained by them.
At that time, Ho Chi Minh's progression sun was,
52.2 x 3.44 + ♉27° = 206.5° i.e., 26.5 degrees of Scorpio, which was in opposition to his natal Sun☉ and Moon☽, in Square of Saturn ♄, and Semi‐sextile of Arcturus ★.
(Fig. 2)
52.2 x 3.44 + ♉27° = 206.5° i.e., 26.5 degrees of Scorpio, which was in opposition to his natal Sun☉ and Moon☽, in Square of Saturn ♄, and Semi‐sextile of Arcturus ★.
(Fig. 2)
5. Released from prison through the efforts of Zhou Enlai (周恩来), Ho Chi Minh returned to Vietnam and led the Vietnamese August Revolution in August 1945.
He temporarily abolished the Communist Party to win the support of the entire nation, adopting gradualism, deposed Emperor Bao Dai, proclaimed the independence of Vietnam, and became prime minister (Democratic Republic of Vietnam).
6. However, France refused to recognize this nation and established a puppet government in southern Vietnam, and the following year, the First Indochina War began.
In 1951, Ho Chi Minh reunited the Communist Party and launched a major offensive against the French ( in Trine△ with Saturn, in Sextile with Arcturus ★ Fig3), effectively turning the tide of the war by the following year.
Mr. Ho Chi Minh's progression sun at the time of reuniting the Communist Party of Vietnam was,
61 x 3.44 + ♉27° = 236.8°, or around 27° Sagittarius, in semi-sextile with his natal Sun and Moon, but in trine with Saturn, which represents the Communist Party.
(Fig. 3)
7. France lost the war and withdrew (1956), but the US instead supported a southern puppet government.
In response, Ho Chi Minh formed the South Vietnamese Liberation National Front ("Viet Cong") in South Vietnam (1960), and the U.S. and North Vietnam finally entered into battle (at that time, his progressing Sun was in trine with his natal Sun and Moon, in 150° with Saturn).
The U.S. expanded its military front (1964), but a worldwide movement against the Vietnam War arose.
In September 1969, Ho Chi Minh died of a heart attack in the midst of a war that embroiled the world (Fig. 4).
However, the Vietnamese people continued to fight and finally overthrew South Vietnam in 1975, driving the United States out of Indochina.
When Ho Chi Minh died, his progression sun was,
79 years old x 3.44 + ♉27° ≒ 298°, it was at near 28° Scorpio, which was in square with his natal Sun and Moon and in Opposition to Saturn.
8. Mr. Ho Chi Minh led the Vietnam War, but he was loved by the people because he never personalized his power in any way.
He also delegated power to others as early as possible, which led to the de facto practice in Vietnam, unusual in Asia, of elders retiring and handing over power to their successors.
Today, Vietnam has a lower percentage of poor people than China or India, and the nation maintains constant economic growth, probably because its leading class has followed the example of Ho Chi Minh's way of doing things.
That's all for today.
